Ironman UK 70.3 Bike Route

I love going down to taunton, and riding the bike route for the Ironman UK 70.3!

There are three reasons;

  • I love riding around the hills of exmoor, it's a nice change from my normal routes.

  • I like to use it as a fitness test, to see how fit I am heading into the race season.

  • I like to compare my final time to see how I'll do in June.

So up at 6:00am to leave for 7:00am, for a 4hour drive.

Parked up at Wimbleball Lake and I saw a few cyclist also going out for a ride.

And of I went, I went of easy. I really wanted to feel good at the end and not blow up at mile 45 like normal!

First lap in 1:32, Hmm a bit slow for my liking but I felt great, so down to work!

Hmm 1:30 for the second. 3:02 overall and I didn't feel tired so not bad I guess!

Off to the harvester, then bed to take part in the Taunton half-marathon.
